Re: Desperate for pain help

Monte,

I hope you can help me. I started suffering from
piriformis syndrome after training for a 1/2
marathon last spring, and traveling a lot on airplanes. It then shifted down to my calves and I
was diagnosed with
peroneal tendinitis. I stopped running completely and only biked.

Then as it wasn't getting better, they put me in a boot. I have been going to PT religiously, and
things were starting to get better. But out of the blue I now have
posterior tibial tendinitis in
both legs (including the one that is still in the boot!!). I started researching and am wondering
if my pain (and my lack of recovery) is caused from stress.

Two years ago, I had nerve pain and burning in my mouth and arms that was definitely stress
related (although at the time I insisted I had some rare disorder!).

I am a constant worrier, so having these ailments have just exacerbated the problem. I'm not
sure what to do next. I am ready to commit myself into the psych ward!

Can you help?

Thank you,
Cxxxxxxx

Monte,
I just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you.  As you suggested in my desperate email to you
back in November, I read your book several times, and read Dr. Sarno's book as well. I found it very
enlightening to say the least.

I have gone from having
severe ankle tendinitis pain for 6 months, in an orthopedic boot and on
crutches, to being able to run again with absolutely no pain.  It took me a while to give up physical
therapy, but had my last one 5 weeks ago.  I am slowly building up my running again, and hope to
start racing again in April.

I was at my wit's end when I first emailed you, and I am so grateful that I can now live my life without
pain and be there fully for my kids.

Keep up the good work!
